COMMON QUESTIONS
When should I arrive?
We suggest arriving 10-15 minutes before service time. This gives you time to check-in kids to the Children’s Ministry, grab a cup of coffee, and say hello.
Do you have a nursery and/or childcare?
Yes, our nursery and Children’s Ministry are open during the 10:45AM service in the brick building at the front of the church property.
Children ages 3-8 are invited to join our Little Ranch Hands program where they will interact with children their age, enjoy a snack, and learn about God’s love for them through 100% Bible based curriculum at their level. Every child is checked into our secure system, and you will be given a sticker to pick them up at the end of service. If your child prefers to stay with you, that is ok too!
Children 9+ are released to the Children’s Ministry building after the Worship portion of the service to explore the Bible in a class setting at their level.
What should I wear?
That is entirely up to you, there is no dress code…but you may still be looking at your closet wondering where to start and what everyone else will be wearing. We’ve all been there, and honestly there is always a good mix at Wilson County Cowboy Church – western wear, dress clothes, t-shirts and jeans, boots, sandals, flip flops… Just find something you are comfortable in and show up because that’s what is important!
Do I need to bring a Bible?
You are welcome and encouraged to bring a Bible or use a Bible App, but it is by no means a requirement. The scriptures used during the sermon will be posted on the stage screen (usually in English Standard Version). When you come in you will also receive a church bulletin that has a sermon outline and space for notes. If you let our greeters at the front door know you are a first time visitor, they will give you a welcome bag that contains an ESV Bible and more helpful information.
How long are services and what should I expect?
Each service lasts about an hour. During the first 30 minutes of the service the WCCC Praise and Worship team will play a mix of traditional and contemporary songs, with a country twist (because we are a cowboy church). Once the Praise and Worship portion of the service is over Pastor Chris Kirkham will preach the message for the week, usually several messages will tie together as a series, so it is a great idea to check out a couple of our previous sermons before attending. Occasionally we do have special events like baptisms or arena events that may change the flow of the service a bit, these are generally announced beforehand, so you may want to check our upcoming events or social media if that is a concern.
